A new coffee to STC this year, Kerugoya AB warmed our bones when we tasted it. It reminds me of feeling the morning sun on my face.
This is a nicely balance, easy drinking coffee. It is Warm and Welcoming with lots of sugary notes like brown sugar and caramel and a hint of a dried red currant.
From the importer, Cafe Imports:
480 producers contribute coffee to the factory Kerugoya, named after the nearby town situated on the foothills of Mt. Kenya. After the cherries are collected, they are meticulously hand-sorted, depulped, and fermented overnight to remove the mucilage. The seeds are then sorted again into grades, and dried for 10-20 days. The cherry skins left from depulping are distributed back to the producers to be mixed with manure and become fertilizer.
