This is the most chocolatey coffee I have tasted in a long time. I'm talking layers of milk and dark chocolate. I'm talking raw cacao nibs and cocoa powder. Did I miss any? How about semi-sweeet? Yup it's in there too. Various shades of brown come to mind as I sip on this lot. A bit of juicy red apple adds a little something to the cup to keep it interesting.

From the importer, Apex Coffee:

Finca El Aguacate is located in Arboleda, Nariño. This region has an average temperature of 19 degrees Celsius and is located at 2000 masl. Gabriel has been managing the family farm for 15 years with the help of his wife and four children. Gabriel and his family also grow plants like corn, yucca, and beans to make a living. These crops also offer shade to protect his coffee plants from direct sunlight.

Despite the limitations and challenges this area brings, Gabriel and his family continues to work hard to improve their conservative production practices. This is the second year Apex is working with Finca El Aguacate and we are so proud and excited to once again bring Gabriel’s coffee to you this year. This coffee is a great example of terroir - driven, minimal intervention coffee produced by a passionate and caring family.
